A MUCH loved town museum has launched an appeal for volunteers to help keep it running.
Holsworthy Museum is one of the town’s hidden gems - with a vast smorgasbord of historical artifacts and wonder within its walls which bring both residents and visitors together to learn something new about the town’s storied past.
Like many similar museums, it is operational thanks to the dedicated love and time of its volunteers who take turns to do shifts in keeping the museum open.
However, with some gaps in its schedule it is seeking assistance in order to enable it to keep doing so consistently.
The museum is short of volunteers to cover shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and would also like to add volunteers who are able to cover other shifts when a volunteer is absent.
A spokesperson for Holsworthy Museum said: “At the moment we need a volunteer for Tuesdays between 11am and 1pm, Wednesdays between 11am to 3pm and Thursdays between 11am to 1pm.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who could go on a list for gaps due to illness, holidays and to cover for others as two of our volunteers do exam invigilating at schools.”
