MORE than 300 sets of bed linen are set to provide assistance to families in Ukraine after assistance came from Holsworthy’s local Lions club.

Responding to an offer from a Bude business, Adventure Bude who had hundreds of spare bed linen sets on offer after refurbishing their outdoor activity centre, representatives of Holsworthy Lions arranged the collection of the items with the intention of passing them to a group who take regular aid packages across Europe to provide assistance to those facing the realities of the present war with Russia.

A spokesperson for the Holsworthy Lions said: “On behalf of Holsworthy and District Lions Club, we picked up over 300 sets of bed linen from 'Adventure Bude' who are refurbishing their Outdoor Activity Centre. We then delivered the consignment to 'Cornwall and Devon Sending Love To Ukraine'.

“The linen, along with other much needed goods, will be taken as part of a regular convoy to Poland, hopefully at the end of November. Local groups will then distribute the aid to the recipients in Ukraine. Our thanks go out to 'Adventure Bude' and 'Cornwall and Devon Sending Love To Ukraine'.

“Holsworthy and District Lions Club were glad to be able to assist in this worthwhile cause.”
