A RECENT art exhibition comprising the works of three amateur classes from Highampton, Bridestowe and Hatherleigh has been described as better than some professional displays — to the joy of tutor Adrienne Fryer.

Held over two days, many people came to enjoy the delightful artwork alongside tea, coffee and homemade treats.

Watercolour was the only 'theme' for the display, and with members ranging from their late 30s to early 80s, the group discussed and put forward what they considered to be their best individual pieces.

These were then framed and displayed on boards borrowed from a Black Torrington art group at Hatherleigh Old School — a "perfect" venue according to professional artist, Adrienne.

The watercolour exhibit was held she said, to showcase the ever improving works created by the class members.
