Similar entry and a strong trade for all the good meat hoggs.
Top per kilo being 415ppk from 2 vendors David Mansfield of Forda, Morwenstow for 2 pens of 42.2kgs to £175 and Steve Locke of Jacobstowe for 44.6kgs at £185.
Steve also made 414ppk for his 44.4kgs at £184 and R Squire of Slade, Honeychurch saw his 45.5kgs make 411ppk to £187. 14 other pens made between 400ppk to 410ppk.
The heavies sold to a top of £197 from RD Middleton & Son of Ashreigney and 2 vendors at £194, Dave and Mandy Walter of Sessacott Park and Mark Walter of Lew Farm for 2 pens.
73 New Season Lambs
A few more on offer and a very fast trade and a lot more could have been sold, top per kilo being 451ppk for 41kgs at £185 from Sally and Chris Prouse of Court Green Farm, Clawton.
Mike and Chutney Watkins of Torrington made 450ppk for their 42kgs to £189, top per head being £192 from Richard Wooldrdge of Halwill.
Draft Ewes
Similar entry and a strong trade with Continental x ewes to £200 for JR Hookway of Town Tennement. Charollais x to £199 from Graham Ward of Iddesleigh and Suffolk x to £195 from SJ Murrin & Son of Monkokehampton. Mules to £170.
Couples 48E & 63L
Good entry and still a very fast trade with doubles to £385 from Richard Cleave of Woolsery and singles to £295 from G Lyons of Tetcott.

A larger show of calves and a faster trade throughout.
Weaned Calves
Top price was £960 for a pair of Blue steers from Messrs Amor of Yeovil with the Toogood family selling a trio of Blue heifers well at £910 a piece.
£935 was then realised for a pair of Blue heifers in from the Toogood Partnership of Winkleigh who also sold their best pair of Blue heifers well at £810. Messrs Amor of Yeovil selling younger types well at £700 (x2) and £680.
Best of the Angus heifers to £900 for the Toogood Partnership again and slightly younger types at £830 (x2) for the Stevens family of Woolsery.
Best of the weaned Blue bulls to £820 from the same family and the best of the Angus bulls to £800 for Ranches Ltd of Bridestow with Geoff Bond selling a ring full at £725.
Milk Calves
Over 400 milk calves sold to a top of £880 for the best of the Blue bulls for the Amor family of Yeovil, Bradley Farm Partnership travelled in from Camelford to sell the best of their standout run of Blue bulls to £790 (2mths) £782 & £780 others at £760, £755(x2).
Plenty of younger and smaller types looking well sold at £500 plus. Best of the Limousin bulls to £800 this week for a stonker, only 2 months old from Henscott Barton Ltd who also sold a pair at the same age well at £770 a piece.
With the Limousin bulls still on milk averaging a very impressive £652 and the best of the Simmental bulls to £740 for the Smale family of Launceston.
£660 for Jones & Partners of Winkleigh and our first time vendors We Organic Dairies of Chulmleigh realised £650 for their Simmental bull.
Best of the native bulls to £675 for a pair of Angus bulls (2mths) from the Nancekivell family of Bude and Messrs Amor continuing their smart run of calves seeing their best Angus bulls sell well at £645 (x2).
Leeson Farming of Launceston sold their best of their young fresh Aberdeen Angus bulls to £600 & £580 aswell as the Mitchells of Lostwithiel selling their best to £568.
Best of the Herefords was £630 for the Amors again and the best of the Charolais was £605 for the Hills of Lamerton.
Best of the heifer calves saw 3mth old Limousins still having a dribble of milk sell well at £750 & £720 (x3) for Henscott Barton Ltd, best of the Blue heifers that were just over 2mths old from the Stevens family of Bideford made £718.
Amors selling Blue heifers at £650 as well as the Johns family of Bodmin selling a smart Blue heifer to £640 and the Bradley Farm Partnership sold the best of theirs at £638.
Simmental heifers at £700 for the Smale family, just young month old Charolais heifers from Rachel Poole selling very well at £630 and then the Wearing family of Tavistock made £600 for their young Charolais heifer.
Best of the Angus heifers at £570 for the Stevens family again, £520 for the Jones family of Trelay and the Amors sold a pair for £500.
Hereford heifers topping at £565 again for the Stevens family with the Hill family of Lamerton selling young Hereford heifers very well at £470 & £460.
Dairy Sired Bulls
Jones & Partners of Winkleigh sold their best young Montbelliarde bull at £565 with top of the black and white bulls £280 for a pair of cracking youngsters from Micheal Braunton of Bodmin, with the Johns family of Bodmin selling theirs at £278.
340 Store Cattle
Another good entry of Store cattle this week and a lot of cattle with a lot of flesh, the trade for the forward meat cattle perhaps less than previous weeks due largely to the easing finnished price.
Top was £2270 for 2 18mth Aberdeen Angus steers from Mr RJ Aston of Pyworthy, other Aberdeen Angus steers from Messrs R & RJ Steer of Tavistock to £2040 (3) and Charolais steers to £2180 for a 20mth fleshed steer from Messrs R Gorst & Son of North Petherwin.
A run of proper grazing Charolais from Messrs MJ Gay & SJ Martin of Ashwater at £2000 (3).
A strong British Blue trade topping at £2040 for 3 from Messrs D & E Kirk of Ashwater who sold others at £2030 (4) & £2030 was realised again for 2 19mth British Blues in from Mr SW Graham of Bridgerule.
RHJ Dairy of Holworthy saw his 19mth British Blues to £2000 aswell as a run of young 17mth Limousin steers from Mr WI Scott of Altanun also making £2000 (5).
Several heifers sold well today with the top being £2060 for 2 24mth British Blues in from Messrs R Gorst & Son of North Petherwin who also sold 3 others at £1950 and 20mth British Blue heifers from Messrs DJ & ML Challacombe to £1890 with plenty of other British Blues at £1800+.
Native heifers to £1790 for 5 in from Mr WI Scott of Altanun. Friesian steers to £1980 for 2 well fleshed steers from Messrs NC & RM Skinner of Beaworthy and others from Mr SW Graham of Bridgerule to £1940.
Younger Cattle
Trade just as strong especially for British Blues with plenty of steers and heifers at £1300+.
£1510 being the top for (2) 11mth steers from Mr AR Pincombe, other British Blues from Messrs J Hawkins & Son to £1460 (4) & £1350 and £1450 was realised for (2) 12mth British Blues from Messrs TWB Hookway & Partners.
11mth British Blue heifers from Messrs JR Horton & Partners to £1460 (4) and younger 7mth British Blue heifers from the same farm to £1100.
4 12mth British Blue heifers again from Mr J Hawkins & Son to £1340 (4) & £1280 (5). Charolais steers to £1400 for an 11mth steer from Mr AR Pincombe and (2) 11mth Charolais heifers from Mr J Bryant of Lynton to £1470.
Natives sold well with (3) 12mth single suckled Hereford steers from Messrs SI & AM Barkwill of Tavistock at £1580 and heifers to £1680.
Single suckled Devons from Mr M Pearce of Barnstaple saw 13mth steers to £1360 and heifers to £1140.
80 Dairy Cattle
The Spring Challenge Show & Sale saw a tremendous trade, a busy MartEye and a packed ring full of buyers looking to source quality dairy cattle.
Topping the sale and cow section at £3700 was the First Prize Cow and Overall Champion ‘Edingvale Bansky Shirley’ a superb 3rd calving cow yielding 48Kgs and selling on behalf of Messrs T & VM Bennett of Cirencester.
This was closely followed by the Second Prize Cow ‘Edingvlae Citizen Lollita’ a 2nd calver yielding 38Kgs also selling on behalf of the Bennett Family with their consignment averaging £2896.
Martin Heal & Family of Torrington sold a 3rd calving cow ‘Allweek Altacabot Dora VG86 SP’ at £3550 with Mr JC Palmer and Familly topping their consignment at £3100 for a 3rd calving cow ‘Sherdon Truxton Hanker 4 ET’ with the 3rd Prize Cow ‘Sherdon Rubels Elin 25 VG85’ selling to £3050.
Also topping the sale and the heifer section at £3700 was the First Prize Heifer and Reserve Champion ‘Bartinney Rubels Hope’ yielding 41Kgs on behalf of Messrs RJ & JR Warren of Penzance.
Steve and Mark Beer of Monkleigh had a tremendous run of freshly calved heifers which saw a top of £3500 with others selling to £3200, £3050, £2900 and his consignment averaging £2983.
Messrs T & VM Bennett saw heifers to £3400, £3150, £3050 with Steve Murch and Family of Umberleigh selling their fresh heifer ‘Littleweir Izza Flossie’ at £3300.
Gareth Hutchings of Launceston sold a smart ‘Willsbro’ bred heifer at £3150.

A single In Calf Heifer due May realised £2050 on behalf of Rich and Fliss Colwill of Moreton Pound Ltd, Bude.
Bulling heifers saw a roaring trade topping at £1720 for a group of 5 well-bred and well-fleshed non pedigree heifers on behalf of Messrs CW & MW Eddy of Truro.
The same vendors also saw heifers to £1700 (x5) and £1650 (x6). A consignment of grazing type, British Friesian bulling heifers met a similarly fast trade topping at £1580 (x3).
Messrs RG Amor & Son of Yeovil sold 4 January born heifer calves to a top of £500 with others selling to £400 (x3).
