THERE might have been a lack of livestock at the Ashwater Show, as a cloud still hangs over the farming community amid the bluetongue virus outbreak, but the centrepiece in the agricultural community’s calendar still delivered delights and a good day out for all those who attended.

Among the stars of the show were the horses, hounds and a striking array of tractors comprising of generations that stretch as far as a century ago.

The successful day under a baking sunny sky was a fine reward for the efforts of the group who dedicate a significant amount of time into organising the event, with the smiles and enjoyment of its visitors threatening the sun for the brightest thing in the Ashwater area when the show was in town.
