ONE of the highlights of the social and community calendar in Holsworthy is rapidly approaching.
The 2025 St Peter’s Fair Week, to be held between July 5 and July 12 promises to offer a packed programme of events for all the community right across the town.
Among the events taking place will be the traditions which are at the centrepiece of the St Peter’s Fair Week – with the meeting of the Court Leet complete with ceremonial ale tasting to take place on July 8.
This will be followed with the fair day on July 9, which will offer a vast program of events across the day, including the Pretty Maid’s ceremony and tea party.

Beginning at 8am with the proclamation by the town crier, events afterwards include a charity breakfast organised by the Holsworthy Scouts, the St Peter’s Fair Sale, an exhibition by Holsworthy Museum, street entertainment, the official opening of the funfair and a luncheon among the offerings during the day.
In the evening, there will be entertainment in the square from 6pm alongside a charity barbecue, a fair draw and an exit collection for the fair entertainment and Holsworthy scouts.
On Thursday, July 10, highlights among the vast swathe of activities on offer include the judging of the Holsworthy in Bloom competition, the funfair and the ever-memorable Furry Dance.

It will begin at the Memorial Hall entrance at 7.30pm where the Holsworthy Town Band, the Portreeve, members of HATS and local youth groups will lead the dance through the streets and pubs of the town prior to finishing in the square.
Live music is planned to take place after the Furry Dance in the square.
Organised by the St Peter’s Fair entertainment committee with the involvement of Holsworthy’s community, this year’s slate of events across the town is sure to enthrall all.
