MANY Pyworthy residents will have noticed the glowing space-age box that has appeared on the outside wall of the Molesworth Arms opposite the old primary school and the village telephone box.

It houses an automatic defibrillator that, when combined with affective resuscitation and a 999 call for help, can increase the potential for survival from an otherwise potentially fatal heart attack in a rural community.

It is there to be used by all the people of the parish of Pyworthy in the event of a medical emergency.

On Monday, June 20, at 7pm South West Ambulance Service ran a training session in the Molesworth Arms.

It was a free event and was open to all residents of the parish.
