GYNEVRA HALL, 54, c/o Howell Hylton solicitors, Truro pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to fraud by abuse of position at two companies in Cornwall. Between September 2024 and January 2025 at Newquay, while occupying the position of Finance Director at GLPBS (a specialist health and social care provider), she is alleged to have abused her position to make a gain of £17,512 and is also charged with fraud by false representation when she is said to have dishonestly claimed she held qualifications required for the role with intent to make a gain namely wages of £43,085. A further charge relates to KML marine contractors in Falmouth when, between February and July 2022, while occupying the position of Finance Controller, she is alleged to have dishonestly abused that position to make a gain of £26,364. She will stand trial on 12 April.

DAVID FOSTER, 51, of West Point, Higher Trencreek, Newquay pleaded guilty to failing to comply with notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £48 surcharge and £85 costs.

JOSHUA ANDREWS, 34, of Nanturras Way, Goldsithney has been sent to Truro Crown Court charged with, between 1 May and 16 August at Saltash, sharing photographs of a woman in an intimate state without her consent and stalking her by hacking into her accounts and emails, sending malicious emails, sending and uploading nude pictures of her and threatening to send people to her address. He was remanded in custody and his case listed for 22 September.

TOMASI VOLAVOLA, 49, of Hunter Close, Plymouth pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman at Maker Road, Torpoint on 28 December. He will be sentenced on 30 September and was released on conditional bail not to contact his victim or go to an address in Maker Road, Torpoint.

NEVILLE CHESWORTH, 57, of Honicombe Park, Callington pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to raping a woman at Calstock. He will stand trial on 17 March and was released on conditional bail not to contact his alleged victim or go to an area of Redruth.

ANTONY JONES, 72, of Goldsworthy Drive, Bude pleaded guilty at Truro Crown Court to, at Bude between 2023 and 2024, possessing 63 extreme pornographic images which portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing intercourse or oral sex with a horse and a dog which was grossly offensive; publishing an obscene article on a Facebook Messenger conversation; possessing 52 prohibited images of a child; making 253 category A, 288 category B and 3600 category C indecent images of a child and distributing 10 indecent images of children. He was given an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order restricting his use of the internet.

THOMAS HERRINGTON, 32, of Davidstow pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, raping a woman at Camelford and making two moving indecent category A images of a child, one moving category B image and eight moving and still category C images. He will stand trial on 30 March and was released on unconditional bail.

KYLE CARR, 34, of Swallows End, Plymstock has been sent to Truro Crown Court charged with threatening to kill a woman, assaulting her occasioning actual bodily harm and causing her grievous bodily harm with intent at St Mabyn between 3 and 15 August, assaulting her at Bristol on 4 August and engaging in coercive behaviour at an address in St Mabyn between March and August. He is alleged to have been verbally aggressive and physically abusive towards his victim when she did not abide by his rules and ‘gaslighting’ her into thinking it was mental health related. He was remanded in custody and his case listed for 22 September.

PAUL MCOWEN, 25, of Berry Road, Newquay pleaded guilty to assaulting a man and causing £20 worth of damage to a wing mirror at St Columb Major on 16 December. He was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 compensation and a £26 surcharge.

DANNY EASTWOOD, 29, and TOMMY EASTWOOD, 21, of Wesley Place, St Austell have been sent to Truro Crown Court charged with assaulting a man occasioning him actual bodily harm and causing £945 worth of damage to a door and window at a property in Launceston on 23 June. Their case was listed for 25 September.

BEN CORNISH, 41, of Dabryn Way, St Stephen pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man at St Stephen on 6 May. He will stand trial on 1 February. He has also been charged with, on 25 April, making abusive 999 calls which were indecent or grossly offensive and caused distress to the recipients. He was released on conditional bail not to contact the emergency services unless it is a genuine emergency.

TONY JONES, 45, of The Street, Cobham, who had pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman at Trenython Manor, Tywardreath on 31 May 2014 had the case dismissed when the prosecution offered no evidence.

KEVIN ROWE, 37, of NFA, Bodmin changed his plea to guilty on a charge of assaulting a woman at Stray Park Road, Camborne on 19 August. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

PHILLIP JONES, 24, of NFA, St Cleer has been sent to Truro Crown Court charged with strangling and assaulting a woman at Dobwalls on 20 August. He admitted breaking his bail conditions which banned him from attending an address in Dobwalls and contacting a woman and breaching a restraining order. He was remanded in custody and his case listed for 22 September.

DAVID NURDIN, 42, of Colliford Tavern, St Neot pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to strangling a woman at Menheniot on 5 July. He has also been charged with harassing her by repeatedly messaging and calling her and verbally abusing her between 4 and 8 July. He was remanded in custody and his trial fixed for 13 January.

OLIVER HAISMAN, 29, of Colliford Tavern Campsite, St Neot pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to assaulting and suffocating a woman at Hayle on 6 June, strangling her on 2 July and on 8 July at Hayle and assaulting her at St Germans on 18 July and to possessing 4.26g of cannabis on 6 June. He was remanded in custody and his case adjourned until 27 November.

CHRISTOPHER BULL, 40, of Advent, Camelford pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man and damaging a phone on 25 March. He will stand trial on 26 April and was released on conditional bail not to contact a man and a woman.

JOSHUA TURNER, 33, of Dutson Road, Launceston, who was found guilty of assaulting a man at Callington on 24 April last year, has been given a community order. He has to do 150 hours unpaid work, pay his victim £200 compensation, a £533 surcharge and £85 costs.

CARLA WILTON, 58, of Lynher Way, North Hill, Launceston pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman at Launceston on 16 July. She will stand trial on 7 April and was released on conditional bail not to contact three people. She pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour the same day.

JIMMY WILLIAMSON, 32, of Rosenun, Horningtops pleaded not guilty at Truro Crown Court to stalking a woman between February and July by following and approaching her at various events and locations and making unwanted contact causing her serious alarm or distress. He will stand trial on 3 February and was released on conditional bail not to contact his alleged victim or go to an area of West Cornwall as defined by a map.

LAWRENCE HARBOUR, 61, of Barn Park, Lostwithiel pleaded guilty to possessing a knife at Liskeard Train Station on 7 August. He will be sentenced on 13 November.

BRIAN HANLON, 36, of Trethevy Close, St Cleer pleaded guilty to possessing a knuckle duster in his home on 8 May. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

STUART RESCORLA, 36, of Gwindra Road, St Stephen has been given a 22-week prison sentence suspended for 24 months after he pleaded guilty to harassing his neighbours and damaging a rear garden gate. Between April 2025 and January 2026, he harassed a couple by putting debris, including dog faeces and cigarette butts, in their garden; damaged a garden gate and trees; verbally abused them; played loud music; stared at the woman and posted a meat fork and a note through their door threatening the man. Magistrates noted it was a ‘high culpability revenge attack’ and caused serious distress to his victims forcing them to change their lifestyle to avoid contact with him. He was ordered to have 12 months treatment for his mental health, made subject to a restraining order not to contact his two victims or anyone else at their address in Gwindra Road, St Stephen, cross the curtilage of that property or enter or leave 16-18 Gwindra Road through the back garden. He has to pay £240 compensation for the gate, a £154 surcharge and £250 costs.

MICHAEL BERRY, 57, of Queen Street, Lostwithiel pleaded guilty to damaging the door of a property on Bodmin Hill, Lostwithiel on 15 May last year. His case was adjourned until 15 September and he was released on conditional bail not to enter or loiter on Guildhall Lane, Lostwithiel or go to an address on Bodmin Hill and The Old Tannery or contact a woman and two men.

SACHA MAY, 44, of Carclaze Road, St Austell pleaded guilty to stealing two diffusers and an angle grinder worth £50 from The Range in St Austell on 12 May. A fine of £120 was imposed together with £85 costs.

MARTIN DAWKINS, 69, of Colwyn Road, Torpoint pleaded guilty to causing serious injury to a man by driving a Ford Transit on the Launceston link road without due care and attention on 4 February 2025. He was banned from driving for 12 months, ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work and to pay a £114 surcharge and £85 costs.

RODNEY OLIVER, 63, of Bin 1, Drakelands, Gunnislake was found guilty in his absence of driving on Tregolls Road, Truro on 9 September, without due care and attention; of failing to stop when directed by police; resisting four traffic officers in the execution of their duty; failing to provide police with a sample of breath and saliva and using a car without an MOT or insurance. He had denied the offences. A warrant was issued for his arrest without bail.

RICKY UNDERWOOD, 50, of Beacon Hill Mews, Beacon Hill, Bodmin pleaded guilty to driving at Newquay whilst disqualified on 31 January. He was banned from driving for 15 months and 22 days, fined £1333 and ordered to pay a £533 surcharge and £85 costs.

LEANNE MERNAGH, 40, of Chestnut Drive, Dobwalls pleaded guilty to driving on Wentworth Way, Saltash on 21 August with 85 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath exceeding the limit of 35 and on Kimlers Way, St Martin, Looe with 88 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on 15 July. She was given an interim driving ban and will be sentenced on 20 November.

NIGEL MCCOUBRIE, 57, of Bodrigan Road, Looe pleaded guilty to driving on Bodrigan Road, Looe on 17 June with 101 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath exceeding the limit of 35. He was banned from driving for 26 months, ordered to do 70 hours unpaid work and to pay £114 surcharge and £85 costs.

KEITH ORMAN, 31, of Tamerton Hill, North Tamerton, Launceston changed his plea to guilty on a charge of driving at Stratton Medical Surgery car park on 30 September with 51 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath exceeding the limit of 35. He also pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour. He was banned from driving for 14 months which will be reduced by 14 weeks if he completes a course, fined £441and ordered to pay £200 costs and a £176 surcharge.
