A VET practice in Stratton is celebrating being awarded Small Animal Veterinary Hospital status by improving its care offering even further by installing a high-tech CT scanner.

Penbode Pet Vets in Stratton recently received the accolade by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in recognition of its high standards of veterinary care.

The accreditation is the highest tier of accreditation available through the RCVS’s Practice Standards Scheme, which quality assures veterinary practices and their facilities. Achieving Small Animal Veterinary Hospital status is an endorsement that Penbode Vets has first-class facilities, can treat more complex cases and has an experienced team on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

To mark the achievement, the practice has installed a new CT scanner which will be used to create detailed images that show what’s going on inside a pet’s body in just a few minutes, meaning certain health conditions can be diagnosed more quickly.

Pas Medina, one of Penbode Vets’ small animal clinical directors, said the team is extremely proud to have gained hospital status.
