MORE than a hundred people have packed the Holsworthy Memorial Hall to hear the concerns raised over what could be one of the United Kingdom’s largest solar farms.

Stop Beacon Solar, a campaign spearheaded by the Devon branch of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) is to hear speeches from a range of campaigners, with the meeting led by the MP for Torridge and Tavistock, Sir Geoffrey Cox KC.

The proposals, if approved by the government who will make the final decision on the plans due to its size, will see 2,700 acres of agricultural land covered in solar panels surrounding Holsworthy Beacon.
