A MAN from Bude has been charged with two assaults and possession of a knife in a public place following an incident in the town earlier this month.

Matthew Penfound, aged 18, has been charged following an alleged incident in St Olafs Road, Bude, on the morning of Friday, July 18, police have confirmed.

Touching on the incident, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Penfound, of Broadclose Hill, Bude, has been charged with wounding with intent, two assaults occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.”

Following this, Mr Penfound was remanded in custody and has since appeared at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court.
