THE rider of a mobility scooter in Launceston has been injured following a crash with an uninsured driver.

Police were called to Carboth Lane in Launceston at around 10.55am on Sunday, May 31, after reports of a collision between a car and a mobility scooter.

As a result of the crash, the male mobility scooter rider sustained a minor injury to his arm.

Police have confirmed that the driver of the car, aged in his 30s and from the Northampton area, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

A spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said: “He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
