A CHILD was rescued from a locked car in Kilkhampton by Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.

Crews from the service’s Bude Community Fire Station were called to reports of a child locked in a car during the afternoon of Friday, June 6.

No spare key was available to assist the release of the child, with fire crews resorting to breaking a window in order to free the individual.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “One crew from Bude attended a call to a child locked inside of a car. No spare keys were available, firefighters had to smash a window in the vehicle to release the child.”
