DEVON and Cornwall Police have launched an investigation after a road traffic collision near Holsworthy.
A man and a woman, both in their 60s have been left with injuries that police are describing as ‘life changing’ in their severity.
Police were called to reports of an incident on the A388 between Holsworthy Beacon and Milton Damerel involving a blue Volvo V90 estate and a grey Ford Ranger pick up vehicle at around 12.15pm on Monday, June 1.
The man and the woman, who are both from Yorkshire and had been left with the more severe injuries were driving the Ford Ranger pick up.
It is said that the driver of the Blue V90 Estate, a man in his 70’s from Cornwall, suffered minor injuries.
Police are asking members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have relevant dash cam footage to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a road traffic collision on the A388 between Holsworthy Beacon and Milton Damerel.
“We were called at around 12.15pm on Monday, June 1 following the collision involving a blue Volvo V90 Estate and a grey Ford Ranger Pickup.
“As a result of the collision two occupants of the pickup – a man and woman in their 60s from Yorkshire - suffered injuries that are believed to be life changing.
“The driver of the Estate – a man in his 70s from Cornwall - suffered minor injuries.
“Officers would like to thank the public for their patience whilst they closed the road to investigate the scene.
“We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and who may have dash camera footage to get in touch via 101 or our website quoting 50260139328.”
