Pothole work ‘imminent’ on Chapel Street

By The Post in Local People

THE long awaited works on the poor road conditions of Chapel Street in Holsworthy are set to take place soon, with road closures imminent.

Potholes along Chapel Street in Holsworthy have blighted the area for many years, causing concern amongst residents and car users. However, the end is in sight as road closures have been put in place.

Devon County Council will restrict the use of Chapel Street for three days in August. They said ‘this temporary restriction is considered necessary to enable resurfacing works’.

Previously, a spokesman for Devon County Council said: “That section of Chapel Street will be resurfaced, with the pothole fixed in the process. It is on our list of programmed works and we are in the process of finalising a commencement date.”

Chapel Street on the A388 will be closed between the hours of 7am on August 17, and 7am on August 19. Diversions will be put in place so traffic can still access the town centre.
