A NUMBER of cheques were donated to organisations and clubs from Whitstone on Saturday, July 15.
The money was raised from the Whitstone carnival.
Whitstone Carnival Committee chairman, Justin Uglow, presented cheques of £150 to Whitstone Primary School representative Paul Woolner, Clare Horn from the Scouts, Caroline Stuckey of Whitstone Wadlers, Ruth Mill for the Skittle Club, Helen Eccott for the Village Hall, Catherine Bailey from Acorns Pre-School and Ruby Edcombe representing the church.
A cheque for £50 was also presented to Thomas Horn, which will go towards the Bude Scouts’ Switzerland trip.
l THE Whitstone Flower and Produce Show was held in the village hall on Saturday, July 15.
There was a lot to see on the day with exhibits of fantastic crafts and magnificent vegetables catching the spectator’s eyes.
The winner of the ‘Most Points’ in the vegetable competition was Graham Orchard. The winner of the crafts section was Fran Slade who was also jointly judged as the overall winner along with Christine Nancekivell.
Justin Uglow presented trophies to the winning entrants.
